I don’t know what to write so I’ll start with your nicknames expressions of adoration Puppin Pup-a-doodle Pup-a-loo Frinny Winky-punk Al Alice just Alice Your eyebrows popped out like tulips in May spriggy wiry white Powdered sugar sprinkled delicately over your rescue dog face with its perfect black olive nose and deep brown eyes You never did grow into your ears They reigned above you Like two giant sails steering you into our home gliding you into our hearts Remember how you flew along the shore? ears pinned back fastest dog on the beach On neighborhood walks your ears perked up like a fennec fox and flapped in time to your dainty dog-show prance Was it your ears or your gait lifting the corners of strangers’ mouths? Or were you a fairy godmother in disguise? granting a little girl’s tenth birthday wish completing our family spreading joy like magic dust
Invitation
Instead of posing a question today, I invite you to remember someone who came along at the exact right moment and worked magic in your life. We could all use a little fairy dust these days.

I think any of us who had a special family member like Alice, shed a tear at this lovely poem. Thank you.
Beautiful Caitlin, my heart is with you 💛
